CSCopilot Studio · Module 1 · Quiz, question 1

An agent routes "my delivery came damaged and I don't want it" to the order status topic instead of returns. What is the most effective fix?

Taken from the live course. Each attempt draws five questions from the module’s bank of seventeen; the pass mark is 70 percent. See the whole module free.

Inside a module

Every module has the same three parts. This is module 1 of Copilot Studio.

Slides

Seventeen slides. The concept, then a decision you have to commit to before the deck shows what a practitioner would do.

Introduction to Copilot Studio & the Agent Era

  • Understand what separates an agent from the chatbots that came before it
  • Learn the one thing that decides whether the agent answers correctly
  • Know what an agent needs to exist before you can create one
  • Get the shape of what it costs to run, before you design anything

Lab

Run in your own tenant, with screenshots of the real console at every step. You need a work or school Microsoft 365 account and a Copilot Studio trial.

Lab 1: Create and test your first agent

  1. Sign in to Copilot Studio
  2. Create a new agent
  3. Configure the agent on the Overview page
  4. Enable Generative Orchestration
  5. Explore the Overview page structure
  6. Test the agent in the Test chat panel
  7. Explore System Topics

Quiz

Five questions per attempt, drawn from a bank for the module. Pass mark 70 percent. Question 1 is at the top of this page.

And then, depending on the course

  • A harder challenge lab (Power Automate, Power Apps)
  • A capstone build marked against a reference architecture (Copilot Studio)
  • The seven-phase Project Room (both Dataverse tracks, Contact Center)

Microsoft Copilot Studio

27 modules in 7 tracks. Quiz and lab on every module. About 50 hours.

The practitioner route through Copilot Studio, from conversation design and knowledge sources to multi-agent architectures, Teams deployment, Dataverse-connected agents and ALM pipelines. Each module teaches the concept, then asks you to commit to a decision before it shows what a practitioner would have done.

The seven tracks

  • 1FoundationEnvironments and Dataverse, agent creation, harnesses, topics, knowledge sources
  • 2Tools in depthConnectors, agent flows, MCP, prompt actions, computer use, autonomous agents
  • 3Channels and multi-agentMulti-agent orchestration, deployment surfaces, Adaptive Cards
  • 4Dataverse and dataFive retrieval patterns, structured data, CRM integration
  • 5Security and operationsAuthentication, governance zones, access and audit, licensing and cost, ALM, testing, analytics
  • 6Advanced and DevOpsGateways and dynamic routing, Power CAT, CI/CD, enterprise M365 rollout
  • 7CapstoneThe Zava warranty claims agent, built end to end

What gets marked

  • A quiz on every module, five questions per attempt from a larger bank
  • A lab you run in your own tenant
  • The capstone build, assessed against the reference architecture

Who teaches this

Manohar Reddy Nallapareddy

Microsoft Certified Trainer · Solutions Architect · Dynamics 365 CE · Power Platform · Copilot Studio

Microsoft Certified Trainer and Dynamics 365 Solutions Architect. Sixteen years delivering Dynamics 365 and Power Platform implementations, six of them also spent training, and a subject matter expert for Microsoft's own certification exams.

The courses come out of that delivery work. The Parkview ward-rounds app in Power Apps, the Zava warranty agent in Copilot Studio and the DC Group contact-centre consolidation are all shaped like engagements, because an engagement is what a consultant is hired to run.

Programmes

Two programmes that run on their own.

Neither is part of the catalogue above or of any bundle. Each has its own cohort and team delivery.

DC

The Consulting Architect

A DC Cloud original for senior consultants

Not a product course. This is the commercial, political and technical judgment that decides whether an engagement succeeds, taught to people who already know the platform.

Foundation
Six modules on the lenses senior delivery people apply before they answer anything.
The Clinic
550 judgment calls across 11 categories, each graded against an expert answer.
Engagements
Ten scenarios with seven AI personas who have their own agendas.

Self-paced, as a guided cohort (8 days of 4 hours, up to 8 people), or delivered to your team (5 days of 8 hours).

CC

Dynamics 365 Contact Center

Microsoft product course with AB-250 exam preparation

Queues, routing, channels, Copilot voice and chat agents and supervisor tooling, taught as one continuous engagement with DC Group, a conglomerate consolidating four subsidiary contact centres.

One engagement
31 modules in 9 tracks. The DC Group cast recurs across all seven Project Rooms, so what you learn in week two is still in play in week six.
Scenario Bank
12 capstone clients across three tiers. You pick one, scope it and deliver it.
Three lanes
Fresher, Consultant, or Architect and PM. Same content, different depth.
Finish
AB-250 exam preparation and a portfolio you can show.

As a cohort (6 days of 4 hours) or delivered to your team (4 days of 8 hours).

The Project Room

A real engagement runs in seven phases. So does this one.

Included in both Dataverse tracks and the Contact Center programme. You pick a client and the phases run in order, because on a project they do.

  1. 1

    Brief

You get the client, the industry and the constraint. Nothing else, the same as a real handover.

    Not marked

  2. 2

    Discovery

Interview the AI client. It has business goals, hidden pain points and opinions, and it will not volunteer the real problem.

Marked onQuestion quality, and whether you reached the actual issue.

  3. 3

    Requirements

Turn what you heard into a requirements set that someone else could build from.

Marked onTraceability. Does every requirement come from something the client said?

  4. 4

    Design

Produce the functional design document, or the technical one, depending on your track.

Marked onLine-by-line evaluation against the expert model answer.

  5. 5

    Build

Work through the expert build guide with a QA sprint board. Findings open as you go, and you close them.

Marked onFindings resolved, publisher prefix, ALM-safe schema.

  6. 6

    UAT

The client tests it. Whatever you missed in Discovery arrives here, with their name on it.

Marked onDefects traced back to the discovery gap that caused them.

  7. 7

    Retrospective

The Decision Map: every choice you made, laid against the expert path, debriefed by the AI project coach.

Marked onA competency breakdown you can take into an interview.

Who this is for

Three starting points.

New to the platform

You want a first consulting role and something concrete to talk about in the interview.

  • Foundation tracks that assume nothing
  • Labs that walk the real admin console, step by step
  • A graded simulation that becomes your portfolio piece

Already delivering

You know the product. The gaps are the enterprise patterns nobody handed you.

  • Multi-agent orchestration, ALM and governance depth
  • Plugins, PCF, Custom APIs and Azure integration
  • Challenge labs for when the standard exercise is too easy
  • The Consulting Architect, once the platform is no longer the problem

Leading the engagement

You own the outcome, and increasingly you train the people who do the work.

  • FDD and TDD templates, UAT planning, stakeholder work
  • Cohort delivery and a team dashboard for your people

Before you ask

Frequently asked

Do I need a Microsoft 365 account to do the labs?

Yes. The lab guides walk you through real configuration in make.powerapps.com and copilotstudio.microsoft.com, so you need a work or school account, or a free developer account through the Microsoft 365 Developer Program, which takes about five minutes to set up.

How long does each course take?

Copilot Studio is roughly 25–30 hours including labs. Dataverse Functional Consultant is about 35–40, Technical Consultant 40–50. Power Automate runs to around 60 and Power Apps to around 90. Project Simulation adds 3–5 hours per scenario. Everything is self-paced with no deadlines.

What is the difference between the Functional and Technical Dataverse tracks?

Functional Consultant covers the delivery side: requirements, functional design documents, data migration, UAT and stakeholder management. Technical Consultant covers the build side: plugins, PCF, Custom APIs, Azure integration and DevOps. Both share the same 13-module foundation, so people often start with one and add the other.

Do the AI simulations actually understand what I write?

Nothing is scripted. The AI Client in Discovery, the Technical Mentor during Build and the Project Coach in the Retrospective all respond to exactly what you write. They hold the full context of your conversation and will challenge or agree with you based on your actual answers, so no two learners get the same engagement.

Can I see the content before committing?

Yes. Every course has a free preview covering its first modules in full: the slides, the knowledge check and a lab guide. No account needed. If you want to look at something specific that isn't in the preview, ask and we'll show you.

Do you train teams?

Yes. The Consulting Architect and Dynamics 365 Contact Center both run as guided cohorts and as enterprise delivery to your own team, with a team dashboard, usage analytics and a sponsor debrief. Tell us your headcount in the enquiry form and we will come back with options.
